I’m Fahad Al-Fuhaidi, maintenance engineer in the Gas Production Department at Ghawar.

One of the things I feared most about fasting during Ramadan away from my family was the loneliness at Iftar time.

However, that feeling transforms into beautiful memories, like sharing meals with new colleagues from diverse communities.

My colleagues help me experience the warmth and closeness of a family atmosphere during Ramadan, thanks to our bonding and gathering during Iftar and Suhoor.

Hala Al-Batiri, vice president of Human Resources at Aramco Asia in Beijing

I'm Hala Al-Batiri, vice president of Human Resources at Aramco Asia.

Currently, I'm based in Aramco Asia’s China office.

Regarding the company support during the Holy Month, working hours in Ramadan are reduced from eight hours to six.

Additionally, Aramco hosts a Ramadan Iftar for all Saudi employees and sponsored students abroad.

Being in China without my family has made me appreciate every moment spent with them and miss gathering around the Iftar table daily.

Thankfully, technology bridges the distance between us.

This year, I'm spending Ramadan in Houston, away from family.

I'm grateful to my friends and colleagues here for making this Ramadan feel similar to spending it with my family back in the Kingdom.

Honestly, I'm enjoying Ramadan in Houston, especially since Suhoor time is later, allowing us to wake up comfortably, have our meal, and enjoy a cup of coffee before heading to work, giving us the energy to be productive throughout the day.

Honestly, during Ramadan here, we hardly feel the time difference or the fatigue from fasting.

Breaking your fast away from family during Ramadan is tough, but the companionship of friends and loved ones here creates an atmosphere filled with the spirit of Ramadan and the joy of Eid celebrations.
