How do we repurpose heat at the Jazan Refinery Complex?
The Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant is the first of its kind in the region. It is expected to produce a hot synthetic gas stream (syngas) that must be cooled down before use.
With the aid of heat recovery units, the heat from producing syngas is recovered and cooled down to produce stream.
The steam is then captured and used to drive turbines generating electricity to power the plant.
