Aramcon achieves ASIS triple crown for certifications

Mshal A. Aljohani this year achieved the ASIS International certifications triple crown, a feat accomplished by fewer than 330 people worldwide.

Aljohani, who is serving as Security Group supervisor for the Western Region Industrial Security Operations Department, said, "Being certified increased my level of knowledge and professional maturity since the learning process opened my mind, increasing my knowledge base and strengthening various domains that I had not previously mastered.

On Aug. 17, the ASIS team published Aljohani’s journey for achieving triple certifications (CPP, PSP, and PCI) on the ASIS International website.

The journey to ASIS triple certifications in six months

To qualify for the certification exam, Aljohani had to demonstrate the eligibility requirements such as education level, years of experience, and responsible charge/case management.

My journey to achieving the ASIS International Triple Crown was both wonderful and challenging at the same time, since I studied for at least four hours every day and much more on weekends.

About a year ago, Aljohani started self-study for the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) - and passed the exam on the first attempt on Jan. 10.

After earning the CPP, he wanted to continue and studied for the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®) exam (for the investigation field), and passed that on Feb. 28.

He then chose to pursue the ASIS International Triple Crown and started preparing and studying for the Physical Security Professional (PSP®) exam, which he passed on June 12.

Aljohani thanked Aramco and his organization for their support during the process, noting that he hoped it encourages more employees to seek professional certifications.

He is an ASIS member in Dhahran chapter and currently working on program committee for the 10th ASIS Middle East Conference and Exhibition, which will be held Nov. 14-17 at the Dhahran Expo.
