In Riyadh, company's Breast Cancer Awareness campaign a qualified success
The Riyadh Office Services Division's first post-pandemic event emphasizes the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
As pandemic restrictions relax and we edge back toward some sort of normalcy, the Riyadh Office Services Division recently hosted its first post-pandemic event.
Held Oct. 27, the division hosted the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign at Al-Rabwah Compound in a celebration of hope, life, and a means of spreading positivity. Several specialized organizations were invited to participate.
The campaign, which highlighted the importance of early detection, attracted more than 200 community members, with over two-thirds of the women attending taking advantage of screenings that were available on-site.
The screenings, where were provided free by the Abdullatif Center for Early Detection, were just one of eight zones set up for the event. Other zones included the Activity Zone, Hospitality Zone, Kids Zone, Awareness Zone, Information Zone, Outdoor Activities Zone, and Memory Zone.
A wide variety of activities
The campaign opened with a run/walk for hope, with awareness booths set up to provide information about breast cancer and the importance of screenings.
Two sessions were also open to visitors, including Zahra Breast Cancer Association's "The Importance of Breast Cancer Early Detection," and the Physionatal Women's Health Center's "Breast Cancer Preventive Measures." Guests also availed to free screenings as children took advantage of face-paining, henna, drawing, coloring, and electronic games in the Kids Zone.
The Fire Protection Department also provided a demonstration.
Event organizers tapped the collective dedication and skills of 33 volunteers recruited from various units. Their efforts helped make the event a success, with survey results showing a visitor satisfaction rate of 98%.
