Push towards implementing IR 4.0 technologies and promoting $7.5 billion worth of business opportunities to Korean suppliers.
The Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management Department (SS&SRM) of Aramco Asia Korea Limited (Aramco Korea) hosted a webinar on September 28, 2021, in its effort to promote $7.5 billion worth of business opportunities at the Digital Hub of the King Salman Energy Park, or SPARK, to Korean suppliers.
This is the first webinar Aramco Korea initiated in collaboration with Aramco’s Industrial Development and Strategic Supply Department (ID&SSD) and SPARK with a goal of attracting Korean companies specialized in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) technology, including virtual reality, augmented reality, Internet of Things (IOT), and smart devices.
More than 30 Korean companies attended the event, including Samsung SDS, the ICT arm of the Samsung Group, and the KT Corporation, Korea’s leading telecommunications operator.
Under the theme of IR 4.0, speakers at the webinar promoted a list of business opportunities at SPARK for the Korean companies.
Hiba Al-Ajeeb, a supply chain analyst in ID&SSD, introduced $7.5 billion worth of business opportunities at nine sectors in Saudi Arabia, including cybersecurity, cloud computing, IOT, artificial intelligence, etc., which all are forecast to witness a huge investment growth over the coming years.
Marwan Zahrani, a marketing and investment attraction specialist at SPARK, presented SPARK’s logistics and one-stop shop services, which are part of the world-class ecosystem the energy park provides to facilitate the growth of tenants’ business along with Saudi Arabia’s geographical advantages offering access to 2 billion customers in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
At the event, Mutib A. Al-Harbi, representative director of Aramco Korea, remarked, “One of the key sectors the Kingdom is focusing on in its pursuit of the digital transformation is the vast untapped opportunities that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will bring to all of us. We hope all of you will be part of the success stories that Saudi Arabia and its tenants at SPARK are already writing together.”
